#17: Friday Night Out

Hello again Fashionistas πŸ™‚

So it’s Saturday today. What are your plans for the weekend? I am staying home because I have to study for my dissertation so not much will be going on for me.

Nevertheless, I found an opportunity for a Friday night out while being in Cyprus a week ago so I chose to wear my Zeila woollen cape which I absolutely adore. Capes have become a hot trend lately amd they will continue on being one of the hottest trends. What is amazing with capes is that there are so many different shapes and styles now that allows you to wear them from day to night.

Some capes can be used as scarfs too, but some others have a more defined shape that can substitute a coat or can be worn on top of a coat. This specific cape is one of my favourites because it is very warm and different than most; in wine red and black wool, leather details and buttons with a very defined shape. It is almost like a coat but allows you to wear another jacket underneath when the weather gets very cold.

I matched it with a faux leather Silvian Heach stretch midi skirt, however I have also worn it with skinny trousers too. This skirt is so easy to wear and even though it is very tight, it is extremely comfortable because it is very stretchy.

Since I was going out for drinks, I decided to dress down the skirt by wearing a chiffon Just Cavalli animal print loose blouse that ties on the neck making the look more sophisticated. I just love the way the sleeves of the blouse are exposed from the cape creating a contrasting combination of colours and patterns. I completed my outfit with my wine red lace-up stilettos that made my look more contemporary rather than just classic.

Notes:

  • This skirt is so handy as it can be used as a base for many different outfits and looks. It can be worn with a long loose knit top and ankle boots for a casual look, with a bralet and stilettos for a sexier evening look, with a loose chiffon blouse and lace-ups like I did, and with many many more. Actually having in your wardrobe a wet look skirt and a pair of wet look trousers is essential.
  • Don’t be reluctant in combining two different patterns together BUT always have in mind that two busy patterns will just make the whole outfit look too much.
  • Animal print will always be in fashion so never put away anything you own in animal print. You can always update it by making different combinations and create different looks each time, whether they are shoes, a pair of trousers, a blouse, a dress or a scarf.

Have a nice weekend Fashionistas and remember to follow me on Facebook and Instagram.

Peace & Love,
