#50: The Queen’s Closet by G goes to Milan (on a different mission)

Hello Fashionistas 🙂

Finally back to Cyprus and reality! I guess you are all getting ready for this weekend right?

After Milan and Athens, I can finally rest with family and friends and enjoy the Christmas Holidays 🙂

For those who follow me on social media, you already know that I was recently in Milan again (yes, I love Milan). It was about time to place orders for Pre-Fall 2017 collections, and today I will be sharing with you some FW17 trends that we are going to see on the catwalks and on the streets next Winter.

However, this was not the only and main reason for this trip; this one had a different mission!

Most of you already know that recently I started teaching Fashion Styling at Studio 8 School of Art and Design, in Cyprus (Nicosia and Limassol). Well, this trip was an educational trip to Milan, where Fashion students had the opportunity to travel with me to the capital of Fashion and see up close and personal all the first line monobrands, the famous Via Monte Napoleone and Duomo, explore the Italian streetstyle and of course they joined me at the showrooms where they could see the pre-collections too.

This trip was mainly for students to get experience and gain a better understanding and knowledge of the fashion world, however, this trip was open to the public and anyone who fancied travelling to Milan with a fashion blogger was more than welcome! In fact, we were honored as we had people flying from abroad and coming to find us in Milan!

So here’s how this trip went 😉

Day 1

Our first day was dedicated on a fashion tour in Milan on foot. We visited Via De La Spigga , followed by Via Monte Napoleone where all the high-end designers monobrand boutiques are situated and saw some spectacular window displays. We then headed towards Duomo, passing by the high-street. We visited the Cathedral while we couldn’t leave behind Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle with the stunning Swarovski Christmas tree, as well as La Scala. After having a break we continued our tour and headed towards Castello Sforzesco and the Christmas Markets.

Day 2

On our second day there, I had an appointment at Swinger showroom to view Cavalli Class and Versace Jeans pre-fall 2017 collections. Everyone who travelled with us on this trip, was lucky because they all visited the showrooms with me and saw the collections, while they had the opportunity to see from up close the roles and responsibilities of a fashion buyer, how everything is styled up and how styling works in order to create a collection, while they could come in contact with the trends for next year! Quite cool right? It’s like living the fashion dream! I was actually thrilled watching everyone getting so excited and getting into the mood. After that, I stayed there to place some orders while everyone had some free time to do their shopping while they got prepared as I assigned them a styling project in the evening, which was completed with success.

Day 3

Our 3rd and final day was a rest and shopping day; a full day at the biggest outlet village in Europe; Seravalle outlet. We took the bus there and spent all day at the stores, either shopping or observing and recording.

Now let’s move to the FW17 trends 😉

Stay tuned because another fashion trip will be organised soon and I hope to meet more of you at our next one 😉

P.S. More FW17 trends are coming soon….!

Peace & Love,

G.
